THE FRYE
COMPANY
www.fryeboots.com
Founded in 1863 in Massachusetts by John A. Frye, a prominent
English shoemaker, the Frye Company is the oldest continuously
operating shoe company in the United States. The company’s
rich history began with its footwear being worn by pioneers
and cowboys who tamed the West. Generations of American
soldiers in the Civil War, the Spanish American War, and
World War II wore Frye Boots, and thousands of returning
servicemen in the 1940’s turned to Frye Wellingtons
(known as Jet Boots).
Iconic Frye Boots, such as the Harness Boot, the Campus
Boot, the Engineer and certain western styles are timeless.
Due to these and other Frye products, Frye has been recognized
by the Smithsonian, with its boots on permanent display
of classic Americana.
In 1993, Jimlar Corporation became The Frye Company’s
North American licensee. In 1998, Jimlar acquired Frye
outright and presently owns the Frye brand for all product
classifications worldwide. With its dedication to craftsmanship
and design, Frye remains true to its heritage and vintage
American roots, while constantly designing new and modern
products. Frye’s benchcrafted shoes, boots, and handbags
feature rich, beautiful leathers and distinctive, and iconic
hardware. For more information, please visit the Frye website
